With `connect: std::collections::HashSet`, we suffer unpredictable reordering
of values in our test cases.
Use `connect: indexmap::IndexSet` instead, which preserves insertion
order for iteration.
The main motivation behind this change is to get just a little
telemetry information from nodes on the network, namely the version
of Radicle they are running.
This is achieved by rewriting `impl Default for UserAgent` which now
uses the version information provided by the build script also used
in other crates.
Also, a new configuration option `node.userAgent` is added, which
allows users to override the user agent if they so please, or set
the value `null`, which will in turn send the user agent
`/radicle/`, which is not really helpful, and the default prior to
this commit.
Creations of `UserAgent` in the whole workspace is cleaned up. In
order to do that `UserAgent::test` is introduced.
The intent to drop outgoing connections is modeled as `Option::None`
which is brittle and easy to miss.
Extend `enum AddressConfig` with a variant that is more explicit.
Add a configuration knob `node.fetch.signedReferences.featureLevel.minimum` to
allow node operators to enforce more strict verification when fetching
Signed References.
IPv6 addresses are already persisted in `config.json` files.
The parsing of these old addresses, e.g. `FE80::0202:B3FF:FE1E:8329:5976` should remain valid.
Emit a warning when they are found.
The output of the address will still enclose the host in `[]`.
The `SeedingPolicy` type now requires a `Scope`, however existing
configurations allow it to not be specified.
Introduce a `radicle::node::config::Scope` type that allows for an
optional `policy::Scope`. The default value resolves to
`policy::Scope::All`. This preserves backwards compatibility for
existing configurations.
The `localtime` crate was defined by cloudhead, and is a minimal
repository with a single `lib.rs`.
Instead of using it as an external dependency, copy the code directly
into a new workspace crate `radicle-localtime`.
The default `serde` implementation goes through the `LocalTime`'s
seconds values rather than milliseconds, since this is the more common
format. This allows the removal of the `serde_ext` functions.
The one place milliseconds was used was for the
`radicle::cob::common::Timestamp` type, where the `Serialize` and
`Deserialize` implementations are manually written.
It also adds a `schemars` feature to remove `schemars_ext` functions
in `radicle` as well.
Due to connection retries in `radicle-node` not choosing new addresses,
mistakenly using an IPv6 address when IPv6 is not supported would result
in failure to bootstrap.
Work around by removing IP addresses again. This means that DNS or Tor
will be required to bootrstrap.
With this change, the location of the secret SSH key can be configured
through `${RAD_HOME}/config.json` so that the node key does not have to
be placed under `${RAD_HOME}/keys` anymore.
Further, there is now an option to override `config.json` directly when
executing `radicle-node` via the command line argument
`--secret`.
The primary motivation is more flexible deployments, for example
leveraging external secret management solutions, like
<https://systemd.io/CREDENTIALS/>.
The secret key is fingerprinted by taking the fingerprint of the public
key corresponding to the secret key. This allows to detect when the
secret key changes.
While running `cargo-semver-checks`, there was an issue that was surfaced
regarding `serde(into)`, `serde(try_from)` and `schemars(transparent)` being
used, and they are incompatible.
This appeared to be a semver issue, on the side of `schemars`, since the issue
would only appear when adding `radicle` as a fresh dependency. The intuition for
this is that once `schemars` was updated locally, the same error appeared when
attempting to build the `radicle` crate.
To avoid this, `schemars` provides a `!` operator for the macro[^0]:
